The most economical option from both Chicago O’Hare and Midway airports is the CTA train. Travel time into the downtown area is 45 minutes from O’Hare and 25 minutes from Midway.
Sleek and modern, the Eurostars Magnificent Mile (formerly known as the Dana Hotel and Spa) has the feel of a hip, downtown loft where even the most utilitarian elements have an artsy twist.
The rooms feature hardwood floors and exposed concrete ceilings as well as spa-inspired bathrooms with rainfall showers; the floor-to-ceiling windows incorporate an impressive amount of natural light and even more impressive city views. Rooms also include a nice selection of reasonably priced bottles of wine, Keurig coffee makers, complimentary Wi-Fi and super comfortable beds.
Their 26th-floor rooftop bar, Apogee, is one of the few year-round rooftop lounges in Chicago with a blazing fire pit on the outdoor terrace during winter (open Thursday-Sunday). On the ground floor, their Portsmith restaurant focuses on seafood, while the nearby Leviathan lobby bar serves cocktails inspired by the ocean.
The on-site spa is one of the best luxury spas in Chicago according to Forbes Travel Guide and is ranked No. 4 on Time Out Chicago's list of best spa hotels in Chicago, though it is on the smaller side, with just two treatment rooms. All guests have access to the hotel’s fitness center, which features surprisingly good views of State Street to observe while working out.
